If you are feeling overwhelmed by the process of selecting a stroller, you are not along. Many parents feel lost because there are a lot of great models on the market. Every year there are many new releases that raise the bar for a modern stroller and the 2014 is not an exception.
I’ve already written an article on some of the cool new strollers that will be coming out later this year, but I also wanted to put together a list of top strollers that you can get RIGHT NOW. Not all of them are brand new, some of them have been released a while ago, but still hold their spot. I will be updating this list as the year goes by and new strollers come out. Of course they have to meet my high standards first before making it to my special top 10.
All of the strollers below are high quality and very practical. For me it’s important for the stroller to have large canopy, deep recline, adjustable handle bars, adjustable leg rest, large basket, additional storage, travel system capability, price, and most importantly light weight.
1. Mamas & Papas Armadillo
This is absolutely my favorite stroller right now! It’s a lightweight modern looking stroller that created a big splash in the stroller industry. It weighs only 17 lbs, but has a capability to convert into a travel system. It’s full of luxury features like large canopy with a sunvisor, roomy seat, deep one-hand recline, adjustable leg rest, large basket, flip-flop friendly brake, and all-wheel suspension. I really like the one-hand compact fold. The small foot print makes is great for urban lifestyle. The City Mini and Britax B-Agile have a serious competition here! The seat can accommodate a child from birth and up to 50 lbs. The Armadillo retails for $245 and comes with a rain cover.
2. Bumbleride Indie
The Indie is one of the most popular joggers on today’s market. I love this stroller because it is full of great features like HUGE canopy, adjustable foot rest, adjustable handle bar, deep recline, large easy to access basket, and easy fold. The seat is made out of bamboo-nylon eco-friendly fabric that is very easy to clean. The air filled all-terrain tires can tackle any terrain providing a smooth ride. Weighing ONLY 20 lbs, this is the lightest jogging stroller that is full of luxury features. It has a travel system capability and can convert into a pram with a purchase of an additional bassinet. The seat can accommodate a child from birth and up to 45 lbs. It retails for $530 and comes with a car seat adapter, cup holder and a bumper bar.
3. BOB Motion
The Motion model was a pleasant surprise from BOB company that usually specializes in joggers. It’s an all-terrain stroller that rolls on four air-filled tires. The state-of-the-art suspension system found usually only on joggers will provide your child with extra smooth ride. The maneuverability on Motion is superb! Parents love it for great features like roomy seat, adjustable handle bar, huge canopy, deep recline and one-hand fold. You can really take it anywhere: long walk in the park, store, or doctor’s office. It weighs only 23 lbs and has a travel system capability. The seat can accommodate a child from birth and up to 76 lbs (basically till college. LOL.) It retails for around $320 and comes with a car seat adapter.
4. Britax B-Agile
B-Agile is one of them most popular strollers that has been staying in my top 10 list for a while. It’s hard to beat this lightweight compact stroller that has all of the features of a regular stroller. It looks exactly like my favorite City Mini, but is even better! I know, it’s hard to believe. It has a huge canopy, roomy seat, deep recline, large basket, and all-wheel suspension. More importantly it weighs ONLY 16 lbs and has that amazing one-hand fold. You can totally have your child in one hand and fold the stroller with the other. I also really like the material of the seat which is made out of high quality easy-to-clean fabric. The seat can accommodate a child from birth and up to 55 lbs. It retails for around $230.
5. Baby Jogger City Mini GT
This is an upgraded version of City Mini. It has an amazing huge canopy with two peekaboo windows (it’s that big!), adjustable handle bar, deep recline, roomy padded seat, hand brake, and my favorite easy one-hand fold. The forever-air tires and front-wheel suspension provide a smooth ride absorbing a lot of bumps. The maneuverability on GT is FANTASTIC. It is really a one-hand stroller. Weighing only 21 lbs, GT has all the features of a luxury stroller for a reasonable price. It’a perfect stroller for everyday use. 6. UPPAbaby Vista
Vista was on my list for last year and it’s still here. This is one of the COOLEST looking strollers that comes with a matching bassinet that allows you to turn it into a fashionable pram. LOV it! It’s full of great features like reversible seat, adjustable foot rest, telescoping handle bar, large basket, deep recline, great canopy with hidden sunvisor, forever wheels with all wheel suspension, and easy fold. It also has an option of adding a rumble seat for a second child. This luxury stroller weighs only 25 lbs (not bad for a reversible seat stroller). The seat can accommodate a child from birth and up to 55 lbs. You can buy it around $729.99 and it comes with a matching bassinet, mosquito net, rain cover, bumper bar, bassinet bug net, and bassinet storage bag.
7. Joovy Qool
The Qool is a new luxury full size stroller from Joovy. This modern looking stroller got a lot of people talking right after hitting the market in the beginning of this year. It has reversible seat with a super soft insert that feels almost like a memory foam. The adjustable handle bar and the bumper bar are covered with high quality leather. The high-tech four wheel suspension system and sealed bearing wheels will provide a smooth ride for your baby. The maneuverability is outstanding! I really like its huge canopy that goes all the way to the bumper bar shading your child completely. The Qool also features adjustable foot rest, 5 point harness, large basket, easy fold, and flip-flop friendly brake. The seat can accommodate a child from 3 months and up to 55 lbs. It also can be converted into a travel system for a newborn baby. It weighs only 21.5 lbs (lightweight for a reversible seat stroller). 8. Contours Bliss 4-in-1
This amazing stroller converts from infant car seat carrier, to pram, to take away carrycot, to a stroller – all in one piece! Since the seat transforms into a carrycot, you don’t even need to purchase a separate bassinet. How great is that? The seat is reversible and very roomy. And, you only need one hand to reverse it. I mean WOW! It also has a huge canopy that goes all the way to the bumper bar, large basket, additional storage pockets, front-wheel suspension, flip-flop friendly brake, telescoping handle bars, never-flat tires, and easy fold. It comes with a cup holder, swing-away bumper bar, footmuff and infant car seat adapter that is compatible with over 20 most popular car seats. The seat can accommodate a child from birth and up to 40 lbs. This baby weighs 24.5 lbs and retails for $399.
9. Peg Perego Book Plus
This is a great addition to the Peg Perego family. This stroller won my heart with its amazing large canopy, adjustable foot rest, all-wheel suspension, adjustable handle bar, roomy seat, deep one-hand recline, and reversible seat. It weighs only 22 lbs (very low for a reversible seat stroller) and has that easy one-hand fold that we all like. The included footmuff helps to create a bassinet like environment for the newborn. The seat can accommodate a child from birth and up to 45 lbs. It retails for around $450 and comes with foot muff, cup holder, bumper bar, and rain cover.
10. Mountain Buggy Cosmopolitan
Last but not least is the Cosmopolitan. It’s a luxury slick modern buggy that has a reversible seat that also converts into a FLAT BED for a newborn, so you don’t even need to buy a bassinet. It is a very compact stroller with an easy fold and great maneuverability. Perfect for urban lifestyle! It also features large canopy, all-wheel suspension, Aerotech never-flat tires,flip-flop friendly brake, adjustable foot rest, and a huge basket that can handle 22 lbs of stuff! The seat can accommodate a child from birth and up to 44 lbs. You can also convert it into a travel system. This buggy is on the heavy side weighing 26 lbs. It retails for $549.99 and comes with a bumper bar.
