The 3 series LCDs also feature a game mode which limits picture processing to cut down on the input lag associated with many HDTVs.

Panasonic Viera TC-P50S2 1080p Plasma TV

PANASONIC TC-P50S2 FEATURES REVIEW
The Viera S2 series from Panasonic appears to share in the affordable 1080p plasma category with the U2 series. Available in larger sizes than the U2 series these plasmas feature a 1080p panel with Panasonic's 600Hz Sub-Field Drive and an anti reflective filter for using the TV in bright rooms. Viera Link allows a single remote to use with any connected Viera Link products.

3 HDMI Inputs, 2 USB Ports, PC Input and Viera Image Viewer round out the feature set of the TC-P50S2.

We've noticed Panasonic plasma TVs improving the brightness of its TVs over the past couple of years. Apparently, 2010 will continue this trend as Panasonic is still gaining on LCD technology in the brightness area. Panasonic representatives explained that 2010 model will be still brighter than 2009 models with the new NEO PDP while still going for a deeper black dimension.

Panasonic did not appear to concentrate on the super thin TV presentation at CES 2010 as did many of the LCD manufacturers. Though we did not measure depth in the new Panasonic lineup it looked to be about the same as 2009 on the series at around a 3.5" depth. Panasonic stated that it was not a big focus this year. This will likely translate to very attractive price points on the 2010 Panasonic plasma models.

Samsung PN50C430 Plasma TV

SAMSUNG PN50C430 FEATURES REVIEW
The 2010 4 series plasmas continue Samsung's affordable 720p plasma line. Most HD programming is still in 720p so the majority of the time you won't be missing out on resolution. All the Samsung plasmas we've tested recently have been impressive so we have high hopes that the 4 series plasmas will provide excellent picture quality for plasma purchasers on a budget.

Features include 2 HDMI inputs, a USB input and SRS TruSurround HD audio processing. A game mode will lessen the effect of the picture processor slowing down inputs, this feature is a must for gamers on an LCD but on a plasma we're not sure it will make much of a difference.

They add a third HDMI input, the ability to watch video off a USB thumb drive and Samsung's AnyNet+ which allows communication between similarly equipped Samsung home theater equipment. Samsung LN40C650 40" 1080p 120Hz LCD TV

Model: Samsung LN40C650 LCD TV
Description: 1920 X 1080 40" LCD Television
Reviewer: Jack Burden
Date: Summer 2010
Introduction
The LN40C650 from Samsung contains some older upgrade technology features such as CFL backlighting, 3.2" depth, Touch of Color bezel, 120Hz Auto Motion plus, the ultra clear panel and adds their Internet suite of choices. This model falls in the lower to mid range of Samsung's LCD/LED lineup. We thoroughly enjoyed last years B650 series LCD so were happy to review the successor model. And as anticipated, we were very pleased with the results. We hope that Samsung will continue to offer/produce a value oriented CFL backlit LCD TV as their technology contained in these TVs offer exceptional value combined with excellent quality.

Samsung PN50C7000

Model: Samsung PN50C7000
Description: Full HD 1080p 50" Plasma TV 3D TV Compatible
Includes Swivel Table Top Stand. Does not include 3D glasses.
Reviewer: Jack Burden
Date: Fall 2010
Introduction
The PN50C7000 is next to the top of the lineup for Samsung's plasma offerings for 2010. We've been reviewing plasma and LCD flat screen TVs for 11 years. When we find a great picture, we're ecstatic. While we were a little disappointed this year with the picture performance of the C550 series by Samsung, we were crazy about the C8000 plasma. It comes with that all-important new feature – 3D TV Ready and has generally the same features as the C8000. In fact, the only feature differences lacking in the C7000 that are included in the C8000 plasma is 1 USB port, and lack of the Cinema Smooth Technology which is a judder reduction feature that we were not fond of anyway.

Panasonic Viera TC-P46C2 720p Plasma TV

PANASONIC TC-P46C2 FEATURES REVIEW
The C2 series from Panasonic brings consumers HDTV at a budget price, while most manufacturers are focusing exclusively on 1080p resolution the C2 series uses a 720p panel and is available in 3 sizes. The C2 series shares the Viera Image Viewer, 600Hz Sub Field Drive and Viera Link features of the higher end Panasonic plasmas.
